“The wildest, hardest but most beautiful ride I have done”
Ride Africa is a charity cycle event run by Fuel for Child.org since 2010. Ride Africa was a bi-annual event in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and, as a result of great fundraising success and participation in 2018, Ride Africa has expanded to 3 events per year with 2019 hosting Ride Africa February, July and November.
Ride Africa is a cycling event that covers between 500-550 km per event over the course of 5 days. This cycle involves challenging altitude, climb and very rough terrain with cyclists completing their journey on mountain bikes for the duration. The cycle is an immense fitness achievement for those who take part, with Fuel organising all logistics, security, health & safety and support for the ride. Fuel also provide participant support with training plans, rider packs and itineraries in the build up to the event with Child.org supporting fundraising, charity support and charity information throughout.
Participants take part as a personal fitness and fundraising achievement while others take part as a group as part of Corporate Social Responsibility and Team Building. Riders finish their journey in the projects of the charity they support, experiencing first hand the charity work they have contributed to.
