Tour de Picnic

Tour de Picnic began in 2009 as a small cycling fundraiser when Event Fuel Director Brian McDermott took 30 participants and cycled 80K from Dublin to Electric Picnic raising funds for charity. Due to the charitable nature, great message and the exhilarating challenge involved in this event, entry to Electric Picnic at the finish line was then granted to participants in the years following. An annual cycling and running charity event, Tour de Picnic had on its 11th year in 2019 grown to over 1200 participants.

Cycle towards the music!

Tour de Picnic was sponsored by Irish Dairy The Complete Natural for 2018 & 2019, promoting Irish Dairy as the best recovery fuel. In 2019, the event saw 1200 Participants cross the finish line in the Tour de Picnic area at Electric Picnic Festival, with 800 cyclists and 400 runners.

Each year, participants raise a minimum of €450 towards 3 chosen causes. Participants are supported in their fundraising and fitness throughout the year. During the event they are supported with cycle guides, support vehicles and endless food and refreshments along the way. Tour de Picnic is growing each year and has added greatly to it's festival village and main arena activation space at Electric Picnic.
